Sometimes my cousin's phone rings when i try calling my mom |

Every now and then, when i dial my mom's cell phone, and i'm waiting for her to pick up, there is a brief silence and then the calling signal changes a bit in tone. After that, it is my cousin's phone that starts ringing!
They are on different networks, and have totally different phone numbers. And their phone models are also different. AND it also happens when i call from a land line.
I really can't see why this happens the way it is. This happens regardless of their distance from each other (happens when they're in the same house, and in different cities).
Any ideas why this is happening? Is this a mere coincidence that it is my cousin that keeps getting called and not some random stranger? Thanks in advance. |

Sounds very much like 'call diverts'. Check that your mom's call diverts to your cousin aren't on.

It sure seems like it, but why does it only happen sometimes? It looks like this happens randomly.. But thanks, i'll check her call settings and post updates here. |

I also find it rather odd that it happens sometimes.

Is that sometimes when your mom doesnt pick up the phone. If yes then it is call divert.

@erazer, it just rings for a few times, and then there is a brief pause after which the call is "diverted". I just can't imagine why this is so. |

Sounds weird dude. Try contacting any one network operator.
