I have a problem with the battery on my W910. I have mine battery for more than an year without any problems, but since sunday, my phone started to run out of battery very fast - 18% far 10 hours. What's the problem? Is it only the battery or there is another problem, because the phone runs slower than ever. Can you help me?

Could there be something running in the background? Or perhaps insufficient memory space, or too many files (ex. offline maps), or too many patches? If I put store offline maps of about 10,000 tiles, Media center will take over 10 mins to update.
At least, have you tried restarting? Sometimes I notice my W910 slowing down if it has been on for a while, so I restart and everything runs well again. |

Anyway if restart doesn't help try deleting some of the offline maps you have (if there are any)...
If not, you can also try SEUS and update your phone firmware if you are using an older version. It also may be the reason why your phone is working slow and draining the battery...

I have no offline maps or anything running in the background. I restarted it several times.
I will clean the memory stick ( from files ) and leave the phone charging for 12hours.

Don't forget to defragment your phone and memory card and check for errors.

NO! Do NOT defragment the memory card or phone memory... It's wrong as far as I know. Phone memory cannot be defragmented (at least on older  phones), but defragmenting the memory card can result in 2 ways;
- have no difference at all
- make your phone even slower or your data stored on the card unreadable and corrupted...
so you just try deleting some unused data... Or simply remove the memory card and see how fast the phone is without it. It also can cause problems if there is some corruption in it's memory...
If nothing helps, you have SEUS as an option. But it's a complete software change...

Ok. I'll remove the unused data.
Actually, I was three days in the mountains ( 14 - 16 ), without any network, the auto-search for networks was turned off, but the phone started to slow down. What's the reason for that?
I left the phone charging for 12h, today I won't do anything with my phone and just keep an eye on the battery. I'll report you the result.
And something more. On Sunday evening, when I was already at home, I heared the sound of no battery several times. I took my phone and saw "Searching networks...", despite I was at home and I had selected my network about 6h ago. I went to the settings, the auto-search was on and didn't want to turn off. I turned off the the phone and couldn't turn it on again. I plugged it to charging and saw that the battery had gone to empty for really small period of time. Why did my phone behavioured in this way?

Don't worry about the Searching network. Something similar happened to me a couple of times where it would say inactive sim until I restart.
About the phone not being able to turn on, it's just that it hasn't turn off completely (light and screen off but something still running in the background) or it has crashed. Remove the battery.
Well try to re-flash the phone as it might solve it.

Defragmenting your phone or card won't hurt as long as you're doing it too not often. Some people are scared of screwing up their card because it is read-write intensive and memory chips have a certain life span. Personally I'm certain that a card, kept low in fragmentation, will last longer.

It does make a difference unless you defragmenting a card that is already.

When I saw the phone, it was 0% battery, I tried to turn of the auto-search, but without success. I decided to restart the phone, but I couldn't turn it on again. I pluged the charger and it turned on automatically. So it had crached. And I have the problem since then.

I left my phone running without MS, in Flight Mode and Clarity for two hours and the battery stays at 91%. Any suggestions what's wrong in normal mode?

Update - I restarted the phone and left it one hour more and it stayed at 90%. Then I restarted it again and went in Normal mode. The battery imediately fell down to 87%. After one more restart it went to 86%. This confuses me a lot.  Can someone explains me why do this happen?
The result - 16% for 7 hours!!!  Where am I going with this phone?!

I just remembered a problem with my network a while ago. They were upgrading and this cause poor reception and services and our phones were getting low very quickly.
You said the battery remained steady in Flight mode. Well, see if other people are getting the same problem on this network. Otherwise it could be a problem with your phone antenna so have it checked. |

That's what I'm worried about.  If this is the problem, can it be repaired?
However, I left the phone for 8 hours in Flight mode and the battery stays at 72%, which isn't normal too. I restarted the phone and went in Flight mode again. Now the battery was 69%. Good. I restarted it again and went in normal mode. It was still 68%.
So is this problem with the antenna? Yesterday from 9AM to 9PM the battery fell with 26%.
One more sign - in the office I normally put the phone near the speakers and sometimes we hear something like like morse code. Yesterday I started to hear this sound every minute, which is too often compared to some weeks ago.

To report another symptom - the battery falls down in this way 72% -> 68% -> 67% -> 65% -> 63% -> 60% -> 53%  , not progressive.
And to add something - I went to some shops and ordered a new one. I went without the phone, only the battery. When I put the battery in the phone again ( after 1 hour outside ), it was already 53% ( it was 60% 1 hour ago ). So the problem might is in the battery.
