It doesn't have a problem detecting other phones and vice versa, but it cannot connect.
When trying to transfer a file to another phone, it just gets stuck on "connecting". Same the other way around.
My settings are fine, all handsets are set to 'visible'. I've tried powering on/off, and reinserting battery with no luck.

Anyone heard of such an issue and suggestions on how to resolve it?

Have you tried performing a master reset? Maybe's a bug with the firmware. In case it doesn't work, send it for warranty. It is new, isn't it?

I upgraded to the latest firmware (from r1fa033 to r1fa035)- didn't work.
Called Sony Ericsson, where they also told me to do a master reset- didn't work.
I just bought it a few days ago at a store that sells unlocked phones. I got a receipt. But for me to send it in for repairs will take weeks plus I have to pay for shipping. And I really don't have a backup phone.

So I was wondering if anyone has faced or heard of this issue, and if there is any way to resolve it? It is definitely an odd situation.
