O2 complaints |

I've been with O2 for a fair few years now but just lately I feel like it's time to leave, when I went to France a couple of weeks ago I was unable to make and receive any calls and only when I got back home was I told about the error on their part, so that really was a kick in the nuts and required me to use payphones constantly there which was more than annoying. Then when getting back I found that texts just didn't want to come through until I called someone when I'd suddenly get a wave of them being delivered to me and this problem has now been going on for a few weeks. Lastly my internet doesn't seem to want to be working, it's just not connecting on my iPhone 2G even after correcting the settings that O2 texted me.
Is there any way I can make a complaint and try cancelling my contract? I upgraded on the 3rd of April of this year for an 18 month contract but am really getting annoyed now.

On the grounds of what you just said probably no. What networks do say in their terms and conditions is that from time to time things happen on the networks which is beyond their control. Technology and systems do fail sometimes. If they are not providing a signal or the service is never available then i guess you could have a case. I dont know i might be wrong. Also sometimes networks need upgrading and there will be service disruptions. Under contract i guess yes they have to provide a service. But if they are providing a service 99% of the time with only some disruptions then i dont think they would allow it. There is a complaints section on their website i think under help. Also regarding your events i did read that O2 recently had massive outages for roaming and for data on a few occasions. I left last year because i was sick of the poor internet and dropped calls but i was on pay and go. I then stupidly went back and its as bad as ever even worse. I am now back on Orange which is dead reliable. Not sure of anyone else's take on this. I used to get that text thing on O2 when i recieved text from my girlfriend who is stuck on a contract with 3UK. I dont get that problem with Orange at all. In fact i have zero problems with Orange network its so fast and reliable. Are you finding internet very slow? Thats what i had alot of on O2. I think O2 is massively over subscribed these days.

Thanks for the reply, I think I'm going to give them a ring tomorrow and exaggerate a little bit to see waht they say, the texting thing is just so irritating as I've missed a few things because of it.
Internet I found to be quite slow on my old C905 however I've recently got myself an iPhone 2G which uses EDGE so I cant really expect it to be speedy.
Thanks |

Report back to us. And yes exaggerate things a bit guess we all do that sometimes. I think the text thing is bad when you think that a text uses hardly anything capacity wise on a network and they cant even deliver them properly its not good enough i guess.

Out of all the networks i now end up always going back to Orange. Not that they are the best value its just the quality of their network and its reliable and robust nearly all the time. Their internet is faster than most i have experienced even GPRS is better than normal. Also i find no matter where i go i seem to get a HSDPA signal. Orange are not shit as you put it. More like its just some peoples bad experiences does not mean they are crap. Their current management need to wake up to the competition a bit cos their value is not the greatest but its still good. |

I'm on o2. The Internet on my iPhone 2g recently stopped working as well and still isn't working. Is yours working now? |

I'm on 3.0 and it was working on this firmware until a couple weeks ago when it just stopped working.

Yeah that's exactly the same with me, I'm on 3.0 too
I might ring them up tomorrow and try using it as an excuse to quit my contract, today 6 people texted me before 1 but they only started coming through at half 5 so with that and the internet problem I think I have the right to complain |

I dont have the text message problem. That ones quite bad. My reception at home is pretty poor though. I've been out of contract for a while now waiting for a good phone (other than the iPhone) and they just havent bothered. No omnia HD, htc hero or even n97. No point upgrading to a new iPhone because they expect you to start a new contract as a new customer not one who's been loyal for years. I think now that the others are supposedly getting the iPhone, o2 may be losing plenty of customers. I'll be one of them. |

Well if you were ever with them you'd know why. Yeah signal is good if your in an area where it's good. Service is terrible, that answer phone woman annoys me so much, customer service appauling, etc. |

I found their retentions line to be absolutely top notch, must have spoken to about 10 people in total when upgrading and all were very friendly and offered great advice |
