I see you're in SA... isn't Dutch similar to Afrikaans? (assuming you speak that)

anyway, you can always type each menu item you see, one at a time, into babelfish for a translation to get you through to setting it to English (or whatever)

Sony Ericssons have a code you can enter to reset to default language, but I don't find one for Nokia.
I guess you could reset the whole phone using *#7780# and enter the security code, but you can't be sure that Dutch won't be the default language I guess

Yep masseur. Dutch is very similiar to Afrikaans. It shouldn't be a problem navigating a phone menu.

I think its time you visit the SA thread, a lot of Xhosanostras in there including myself. Can't you just ask a white colleague or friend to help you get the language settings right?

Don't have this phone myself, it's Symbian, right ?

In Dutch it should be something like : Menu -> Instrumenten -> Instellingen -> Algemeen -> Displaytaal (Wijzigen) -> Invoertaal (Wijzigen) -> Engels.

Taal = language, wijzigen = change, invoertaal = language for sms and email.

I only have newer Symbians, so don't know the exact menu, but it should be like this. Dunno what languages your phone supports, maybe you want another one, not English.

Oh, that's German (Deutsch), not Dutch (Nederlands).
You'll have to search in the Einstellungen (Settings)-menu -> Allgemein -> Sprache (Language).
Hope, this helps, good luck !
