Hi all,
I just got a C903 and feel that one important function is lacking for the aGPS:

When biking, I want to be able to track my routes and store them to share with others.
On my R.I.P k750i, I did this with a Bluetooth GPS connected, and an applet called MobiTrackPRO.
This applet is brilliant, as it tracks whatever route as often as you want (in meters), as stores them as .kmz files; perfect for Google Earth.

The C903 comes with a software called "Tracker" something, but AFAIK it doesn't track GPS coordinates at all; only uses them to calculate velocity and distance. I even tried MobiTrackPRO, but it can't connect to the internal aGPS.

Is there a way to accomplish this on the C903?

Cheers;
LC

GPSed can track your routes. It stores them in its own a format (.gpsed) but they can be converted to .kmz files.
I'm not sure if Wayfinder Active allows to save routes.

PM me.

You could give GpsMid a try. It allows you to record tracklogs and save them as either GPX files or as raw NMEA. It also gives you offline vector maps and routing, in case that is something you want.

OK, it seems the C903 supports the JSR179 location API mentioned in GPSmid product description.
I'll try that.

Meh. Cold not install it:
- Installing from web failed because its too big (!) Only 3.5MB..
- Installing from file system fails. Simply fails, with the msg "Operation failed".

Try to download it to the phone's memory. Take out the m2 before downloading it.

The m2 is the Memory Stick Micro.

That doesn't matter: When I get it onto some folder, whether in the phone memory or the mem card, and I choose "Install" on the .jar, it responds "Operation Failed".

Perhaps the archive is corrupt?

No, at least it seems OK with MobiTrackPRO and GPSed.
Both install and run.

Scratch that. I was trying to use the wrong .jar...

Either, you have to download a pre-built bundle of application + the maps you want.
Or, you build a bundle yourself using OSM2GPSmid.

Either way, you get a .jad and a .jar, and it works fine
