Hi All,

How do I disable EDGE in C902? In K550i, there is an option under the Data Communication Setting wherein you can select PS or CS, but in C902 there is no option for that. It may be due to the firmware that I have. It is the latest because I have updated the firmware via SEUS. Please help. It drains my battery very quickly.

Thank you.

Battery battery
1. Make sure to Turn off your blue tooth when not in use
2. Turn off infra red when not in use
3. Keep the key pad sound silent
4. Turn off the vibration and lessen the ring volume. When you knew you could hear it. Use the profile features.
5. Use a theme that have no animation or Use a picture to use it as wall paper.
6.At display brightness 100 percent is tooooo much bright. Make it 50 percent to make the battery last.

Tip tip to make your battery last for long. Unplugged the charger WHEN it is fully charged. Do not interrupt the charging process when it is not fully charged. Charge your phone at 10 percent. Never never charge your phone at 50 ,40 30 or 20 percent. And also DONT fully drain (empty) your battery phone.

And finally turn OFF your 3G signal when not in use
I own K550i Pearl White R8BA024 08W03 and K810i Golden Ivory R8BE001 09W03

You can't disable Edge, but 3G can be disabled. Go to Settings > Connectivity > Mobile Networks > GSM/3G Networks and choose 'GSM Only'.

Now, if your phone is branded, you might have to debrand to be able of of upgrading to the latest generic firmware, which of course has least bugs.

Hi markphil and StevenC,

Thank you for all the information but I have done those things you've mentioned beforehand. My phone is not branded, I have the latest firmware R3EA038. I did not know that the battery should not be fully drained because many people are saying that batteries should be fully drained to prevent "memory" effect even if Li-ion or Li-poly are not susceptible to that. Thank you for your help.

I have another question... Should NEW batteries be charged right away or should they be drained first?

No memory effect on Li batteries. Charge them as often as you want. However, Li Batteries loses its capacity over time at a constant rate. A battery manufacturer said that using a little and then charge the battery will provide best performance.

I really have no idea why my C902's battery drains so quickly. What happens is that after fully charging the battery, it shows 99% after an hour even if I leave it on standby. By the way, my phone is just 3 days old. The salesman told me to drain the battery first before charging it for the first time. So I followed what he said.

Well right now don't worry about it, a new battery will provide its full capacity after a while. Besides, when I got my W910 the battery was draining in a day. After I use it for weeks, standby times increased to 3 days (moderate use).

@ lel0uch:

I don't think I am a new user of mobile phones since I had 21 mobile phones of different make and model and 13 of which are still with me. By the way, I do read the manual.
