What phone to get? Satio or keep my C510? |

Hey guys
I'm in a bit of a predicament. I've been a P series user since it came out and I had a problem with my P990 back in March and I wanted to buy my dad a new phone. Well it just so happened that my dad had to go to the hospital a day before I got the C510 for him, so I ended up using it until he got out. Well I fell in love with the C510 while he was in the hospital and was planning to keep it until the Satio came out. Now I keep seeing a lot of people bitching about the Satio, and some saying to wait for the Android version of it.
I'm a bit out of the loop right now and was wondering if I should get the Satio or wait for a different phone. Whatever phone I get, I want it to be the top end SE phone on the market as I have a habit of not buying a new phone until 2-3 years down the road.
Like I said the C510 is an amazing phone and I don't mind keeping it until the next best thing from SE comes out. I honestly thought that having the C510 was gonna be a downgrade for me, but I couldn't believe how amazing it is!! So is it the Satio or is there something coming after it that has been announced already?
Also in one of the videos on Youtube the SE guy says that Satio is now Q1 2010....I thought it was Q3 2009??

once again.. .useless replies!
a monkey can post the name of a phone from the choices, but what would be useful and helpful to the topic starter is actual reasons why you have the choice that you give!

I tell you a reason:
Satio White Paper
Have a look at it and you will now. Much more capabilities, modern, good design, should be easy to expand functions due to symbian platform... What u waiting for? ...well, maybe like me, for the rumored rachael
hope that helps |

I would take Rachael over Satio too.
Satio is a great device but Rachael has the platform which is most likely to succeed.
C510 is a good phone too but comes a distant third.

Absolutely agree that Rachael is going to be the best that SE will come up with. From the interface to user experience it promises great things.
Ok, matbe I'm a little biased since I love Android. Satio has got it all but the Os is the stumbling block for me, I will say it again that S60 v5 is a lame attempt at entering the touchscreen era. I, personally, would've loved UIQ's last version that never made it out of the starting blocks. That UI was so good that it was ahead of the times, the kind of thing that the Iphone would've been judged against.
Hopefully, the Symbian Os will be something good. I for one am headed the Android's way and it will take a miracle to make me go the Symbian way.
It's not what you do or even how you do it but in what state of mind you do it: Dups! 2009 |

My God, someone speaking sense!! Although I say buy an iPhone haha, no not really, although I love it.
IMO the Satio is a dead duck as the OS is old and clunky and will be replaced with the Symbian Foundation one next year. So I would buy Rachael, the SE Android phone:

The only other phone you should look at is the Xperia X2 as you can install Windows Mobile 7 when it's out. Both are top end phones and will last you the 2 years, it's all about the OS and interface these day's just as much as the hardware and bot these phones promise to take on my iPhone in that department. And also having experienced a cpacitive touch screen I would never go back to resistive like the Satio. |

Don't you accuse me of speaking sense!
Rachael is some way from release so the OP could be quite happy to stay with C510 or use a Satio in the interim. I expect Satio to be Awesome as a device but limited by the lack of traction SF seems to be making. Long term that's not good. SF's future really relies on SE or NOkia producing a phone which cause user to flock to a SF App store as they do with the iPhone. I just don't see users being motivated to do that at present. I hope Satio can cause a great shift in user behaviour like the iPhone did.

You should wait until at least october so you know what else SE have announced. Satio has good specs on paper yes, but you have no idea how it will fare in your hands. Plus theres rumours of rachael and possibly vulcan (X2) as well. Dont rush it, its a big decision to make, especially if you dont buy another phone for 2-3 years! You want the best, so wait till SE has released its best this year. |
