We all know using a DNS on our connection may speed up our web surfing, but some really does'nt understan how it works. Here a simple explanation.
DNS or Domain Name System translates or converts a website to an ip address. For example when you input a url such as www.esato.com the website needs to be translated to numeric IP address. A DNS server does the translation, from www.esato.com to 81.27.33.7..
DNS live in the internet, pc/mobile contacts them with the request to do that translation which is commonly called resolution. As a m0bile users, network providers does'nt give us a DNS on our internet setting, defaul DNS is used within the server, traffic and delay will always be a problem. If there's a delay on contacting the DNS server, or if the DNS server takes to much time in getting the numeric ip address of a website, you will encounter a delay on getting the website.
So even you have the fastest network provider or a strongest signal, your web surfing will still be slowed down.
Speed up your web browsing with OpenDNS. Instead of using your network default DNS server, OpenDNS has a huge online DNS cache with DNS servers around the world. So you'll be able to get ip addresses m0re quickly from it than network's DNS..
The addresses of the OpenDNS servers are 208.67.222.222 for a primary DNS server and 208.67.220.220 for a secondary server. For SE users just use the primary DNS.
You may also use different DNS, depends on you. Less users, more speed.
happy surfing!
