I went to upgade my phone the other day. It's bought in the Dubai by my father who lives there. I checked Telesupport.se and found an Ericsson Service Point not far from where I live in Stockholm. They told me thay had to charge me SEK 145 ($14) because I had not bought my phone from them. They also told me that Ericsson had changed their policy and that all service now should be made by Ericsson themselves and by sending the phone to them. Has anyone else encountered this?

Hey, I had the same thing with a Nokia I bought in Dubai... so now I buy my phones in Europe and get my VAT back when leaving...hihi that way I get a good price + the free upgrades and stuff.
I don't really think they should be allowed to do that...after all, it still IS

As far as I understood it wasn't the fact that the phone was bought in Dubai that was the problem, but the fact that it wasn't bought from them (TMC in Täby).

Then THAT is not normal, when you go to service center, you should normally just show your receipt that you bought it from an official dealer and then they do the update...
can't you try any others? |
