Orange have just released a new pay as you go animal tariff named Monkey. This tariff is the same as Dolphin in that you get free texts every month but on top of this you get what they call unlimited access to music. I thought wow cool but no its not free music downloads. You get unlimited actually 600 minutes to call 247 number and LISTEN to the music you want through your phones earpiece. Oh dear me i thought what a stupid tariff. Why would you want to listen to endless music through your phones ear piece it would be like being on hold to Orange customer services and listening to the endless crap music. You get access through 4Music or Orange Music Store. The better part of it is access your music or playlists online. Not what i would call an imaginative tariff why did they not give users unlimited downloads like Vodafone or for topping up a certain amount thats what people would prefer. Come on Orange seriously.

Lol indeed its pretty poor imo they are just not being very imaginative or very competitive with other networks. Its crap. You can go online create playlists but then listen to them via calling that number. And i would hardly call 600 mins to listen to the music unlimited. Bloody monkies.

No on Orange pay as you go you dont get call waiting. Pathetic. I bet they are doing this to cut back on heavy data usage instead people using dial up music lol sigh [ This Message was edited by: Bonovox on 2009-08-01 16:26 ]

Reading more detail you can listen and create playlists on your pc upto 60 new tracks per day. But on your phone is the crap bit with listening to them via calling 247. You get 600 mins to call this number how rubbish is that. The tariff is aimed at 16 to 24 year olds. How dumb is that? Sorry Orange its crap. It says its the first full music service on any network. Its not. Orange could have had the opportunity to make it really good instead bringing out something thats just backwards.

Yeah think Orange have missed a trick with this one.
The idea is certainly there & its fairly innovative but think this service will fall flat through its inconvienient implementation.

Again, Orange so close yet so far.......

Heres a novel idea why dnt all the networks offer the same payasugo tarriffs. For instance top up 10quid u get 150txts 75mins and 250mb free .swop your top up (meaning u pay for it )and u get double ie 300txts 150mins and 500mb. 15quid gives u 300txts 150mins and 500mb free (pay for it again gives u double) 20quid and u get 600txts 300mins and 1gb free. Pay for it gives u double again. Good idea?

Yes its a good idea. But can you imagine talking with a network like Orange asking as the customer what you would like would they listen? Probably not. Its like they dont even look at the competition and say we are going to better that and attract new customers. Useless.

I just noticed a 'dial up tunes' link when I go to My3 on my phone's 3UK page. The blight seems to be spreading - aaaarrgh!
