I checked it out in the Sony Centre. Does it have the AV feature that lets you access music and video when its not booted up?

if you mean av mode then yes there is a button by the power button that says av mode

You're not having my black Vaio CS, I love it to bits, especially since it got a well deserved RAM upgrade last week.
BT, wifi, 14.1" widescreen, DNLA, 3 x USB ports, 2.1GHz Pentium Dual core and 250GB HDD. Got it for exactly half of what I paid for my 2005 Compaq notebook. Very happy.
Wouldn't say no to an 18" Vaio AW though...

Out of my price range too.
The only trouble with a CS in black is that it shows up every fingerprint and spec of dust, worse even than my iPhone.
I'd have chosen white but they were all sold, I got the last black one at the store.
