I've never used symbian SE but I have owned a few SE phones. The W705 is identical to the G705 and W715 but has no GPS. Those 3 phones interface are similar to any other SE Ericsson but they are based on second-latest platform (DB3210) and they're quite stable and fast. I can tell as I own a G705. It has good sound quality as well (very different from W910 sound).
Unless you prefer symbian, I'd advise you go for G705/W715 because the G900 is quite old now. |

I used both and personally I think G900 is much better in overall. Altough music quality is sligthly worse than G705 but photos quality along with interface and software is much better. With new version of firmware G900 is almost perfect. It doesn't matter if is old or not as long You can get decent model. If symbian is not problem for You go G900.

that phone is no java... it's based on ericsson operating system... and g900 is symbian UIQ.
the app support of the phone is java..
Anyway i think G900 is the better choice. I am using it since february... It's great so far. Recommend it.

I'd like to know why all the these threads comparing apples and oranges.
We have a java phone v a UIQ phone here and a java phone v a S60 version 3 phone in another thread. Are these threads just created to start arguments or is there actually a real and tangible shift of users from java based feature phones to smartphones? Outside of Esato, I don't see any increase in users paying for and downloading Symbian, Android or WM apps, using mobile data, tethering their phones, browsing or downloading email.
There seems to be an assumption that a smartphone is a premium level feature phone that endows its owner with the glory of being better than other mobile users. This is bulls***. You buy the phone that suits your needs best and if you want a monochrome screen Nokia 1110 thats perfectly okay too.
