Okay so I got my T68i replaced with a brand new T68is through AT&Ts warranty exchange program, but I am a little confused about the hardware version.

My old phone (purchased September 2002) was hardware version R6A, with firmware version R3C001

My new T68is has the newer firmware version R5D007 but the hardware version is only R2A?! How can this be? Are they using old hardware for replacement phones? I read in another post someone got a T68is with hw version R10C.

Date code on new phone is 02W48.

How important is the hw version anyway?

Did you try this, ">*<<*<*"

You can checked your SW version here. I'm using R5D007, and I called AT&T for a upgrade and they told me that it's under Sony Ericsson and not theirs. How much did you pay for the upgrade?

Thanks
Peace out!
