Hey,
Ive got a budget up to £8k max but ideally around £6-7k for a car. Ive been looking at Mazda RX8's but are there any others around my budget that would suit my needs.
Looking for something like the RX8, sporty, quick, decent miles on it (under 50k) okay on insurance as im 20, reliable.
Thanks

you could buy a amazing old school mini which that money mate - and probably blow most people off the road if you got the engine right

If I'm not mistaken, the RX8 returns about 25mpg...
Do you really want that?

RX8 are dubious in terms of engine reliability and parts expense, anything BUT that

Surely insurance on an RX8 would be £6k alone?

So you want something sporty, fast, quick, and you want cheap insurance. Not a cat in hells chance.
I would buy something reliable for the first 2 years, get your insurance down, and then look at something of the above.

well the rx8 is fast 0-60 in about 7 seconds, and does close to 150mph. and insurance for me is about 1500ish which is fine for me. ive been driving for 3 years |

Ah, didn't know you had 3 years no claims already.
What about an Audi A3?

What about the old honda civic type R, 0-60 in 6.5seconds and does 150mph, or the VW golf R32 , 0-60 in 5.5seconds and does 155mph

You can have an ECU mod on the R32 which takes it up to 170 something
Pretty car too. How much do used MK5 R32s cost anyway?

My son who is 24, in similar circumstances, got this http://www.timesonline.co.uk/[....]emy_clarkson/article529548.ece
His insurance is about 600 per annum.

I've got that Astra Sri, decent car.
Could get a 5dr sri with XP kit inc. 18" Pentas for that price. Can go when it needs to, feels really light.
