Hi

I am buying a high-end cell phone for the first time because I want to always have a camera at hand.

The c901 is 150$ cheaper than c905 (when I get it with a plan), so I would like to know....how is the camera in c905 better than c901 besides having more megapixels? and how much difference does these 3 megapixels do?

My main need for the camera is for everyday social life and night clubs, to share with friends and upload on facebook and such. Will I feel a big difference between the two phones, when using the camera in these situations?

Other factors that play an important role for me:

easy and fluent text messaging

good audio quality, I am going to use the phone as a second mp3 player as well.

and durability! I tend to drop my phone a lot.

Generally I would just like to hear which one you like best.. So if anybody could share their experiences with these phones, it would help me a lot!

Thanks
Filip

In my opinion the C905 is marginally better, they are both extremely similar and just because the C905 has an 8mp doesn't mean you really notice a different. The camera software is exactly the same, interface is the same everything is the same no difference at all, except the C905 has a better exeon flash but the c901 flash is great still. Audio quality is exactly the same, the interface is the same as well. The C901 is likley to have better durabilty because it is a candy bar, the C905 has a large gap on the back of the phone when the phone is slid up, not too good if your out partying and someone spills a drink. Texting is up to you really, everyone has there own preferences you should try that out for yourself, but the C905 is very bulky and a bit too bulky so that may affect texting, too bulky for me though. The reason why the C905 is marginally better is stronger exeon flash, larger screen (2.2 inch vs 2.4 inch), wifi capabilities, and GPS. The C905 comes with an 8GB memory card while i don't think the C901 comes with one. The C905 comes with BBC iplayer built in (UK only). Also both models come with facebook intergration with the updates on the wallpaper, you can update photos straight to your facebook as well which should come in handy

Conclusion: Even though the C905 is better slightly the reasons why are prety miniscule, for an extra $150 dollars its not worth it, get a C901, UNLESS you will be stuck on a very long contract (2year+), then the slightly better picture quality may come in handy

Thank you for the detailed comparison 10123... helped a lot so I am going to go with the c901!

I have a new question, if anybody is up for it.... Is the camera in these phones really so good, that they can be considered a serious alternative to a normal digital camera? Or will I be disappointed if I bring it to, for example, a night club...where it's dark and people are moving, and consequently end up with a grainy, blurry, dark image? I am not asking for huge HD sharp pictures, just decent, clear photos for, as I mentioned, friends/facebook.

Thanks again, a lot of valuable info on this site.

The price difference is only about $50 from what I have seen at the moment.

Half of my photos taken with my C905 are in nightclubs, so yeah, it does pretty well.

Here's an example (viewer discretion is advised )

Not the best photo, but I chose this one to illustrate how the miniscule exposure time during a xenon flash discharge handles rapid movement. Pretty well actually.

Nightblade: Thanks, the photo looks great and the quality of it suits my needs, so its looking good! Would those of you who have c901 say that if the photo had been taken with c901, it would be just as good in terms of sharpness and movement? Or can I expect a slightly worse result (sharpness/movement) because of the lesser xenon flash in c901?

Bialynia: I don't know where you live....I am from Denmark, and here it is at least 150 $ price difference

I think C905 slightly better ( (a bit)pics / WiFi / GPS) but C901 is enough (if 3G availble at least for upload pics directly to facebook by fb apps) and because of candybar form factor is more durability for your.

@Nightblade
give me some more best shot please!!!!

PS.I rather love to get some xenon flash phone after w995 .... or I need clearbass+xenon

You can get the c905 for around $330-$340 in the states right now, while the c901 is around $280-$290. Now I would buy the c901 right now if I could get it for $200.

Here's a close-up shot taken in the same nightclub if you want to see how it the phone fares with image clarity.

And here's another club shot.

Now let's hope they haven't found out I've posted these on a forum.

Well, for one, nighclubs near the beach like the ones here have pretty large windows and open spaces.

I'm using the default cam driver.
