Being new to the forum and all that i felt you people would probably have some experiences and may be able to help me.
In december 2001 i purchased an ericsson R310. True to the marketing it survived everything i could throw at it. However after about 3 months the software broke down with power offs the 7 key bringing up 9. Basicaly the phone was unusable. It started with minor problems, went to SE for repair and came back worse. Some suggestions from SE customer service were horrendus - "Buy a new handset"
One time celestica told me that they had sent out a new hand set only for the old handset to arrive back!!
When they did send a new one out it didnt work properly either.
Finally SE agreed to give me an R520 which has preformed brilliantly to date.
Whilst on holiday in australia i bought a HBH-15 out of a vodafone store. It worked perfectly in store and i brought it home. On taking it out of the box i found it would not work.
So off it goes to celestica again. SE say that if they cannot repair it (even if it is their fault) they will not replace the unit - it will need to go back to australia.
Has anybody else encountered this level of unreliability, poor attitude and service.
I want to stay a SE customer but if this fiasco continues i'll have to change my loyalty.
Can anybody give me some suggestions on what i should do?? |

Well sadly due to manufacturing being spread all over the world. SE can only give service in europe to products actually bought in europe, i think it`s because they have different profit margines in different countries & it stops european retailers buying stock in say hong kong & selling it in UK. it is becoming more common for different parts to be used in products made in foriegn factories, even on the same model. so the moral is if you get it cheaper abroad you might lose out in the long run. personally i`d sneak into a local store & try to convince them you bought it from them, say you lost the reciept & offer to pay, they will probably refuse your money insisting it`s covered by manufacturers warranty. (choose a big store if poss).

SEhas never let me down. I suggest you do as they recomend. It might cost you a few bob in postage but at least you will get value for you money. And in the future, buy locally and stick to the same shop, then you wont have this happening again. That is my advice.

The local SE SP is also the Nokia SP, and after having to deal with them whilst having problems with my 8850, I absolutely REFUSE to go back, this annoys me as they are the only SP in this city and I will have to wait for another couple of weeks when I go interstate to get my T68i SW upgraded. |

i work for a mobile stor here in belgium and we've always had good results from se. I even had two seperate customers both with a t39 that we sent for repair, after a short time a received two t68. The phones had to be swapted and as they didnt have the t39 anymore se gave them a t68
