Am I the only one who likes my non smart phone k850 and is not bothered with all these 8 or 12MP touch screen only phones that every company seem's to be bringing out, like iphone, LG touch phones etc etc.
I am happy with my k850 and happy with the buttons this phone has. I hope s.e does not stop making candy bar xeon phones and brings out a phone with the same buttons as the k850 |

lol larry me and u the same here. i am commited at seeing this phone out till as long as i can. and when it breaks? i will ask my insurance company to source me a k850, unless a similar phone comes out lol. I could have upgraded in May but am sticking to my sim only deal tariff now
Reason for me sticking with non smart phone is that, for internet i have an amazing opera mini browser that is amazing to use . I also don't need GPS as I have a purpose built tomtom for that . If I need a map. I have google map . If I need a compass? I can get a pocket one lol. All my emails are on my handset already and 5MP camera is good enough, if I need a v good camera, I would just buy a purpose built digital camera, however I don't take loads of photo's each day. So I do not need that .

I dont realy care about camera, but YES i prefer a smartphone. I love my K850 but its TOO limited and slow for my liking, so i use my N81 majority of the time.

i prefer non-smartphones too. still contented with my K800i. it's my modem, music player, organizer, flashlight, and backup digicam.
oh, and i recently found out that i can use it too to make/receive calls and send text messages.

I like non-smartphones too, I feel smartphones are mostly over-rated unless they add some significant extra feature.
Now that has put wifi in some mid range phones the need for a smartphone is much reduced IMO. I find my iPhone OS frustratingly slow compared to feature phones. I downloaded some iTunes U tracks last night and iTunes forced me to re-synch all my photos and apps as well which took ages. That's not Smart, that's dumb. I miss the ease that I used to sync my V640i with my Laptop and use it as a memory stick at Uni as well.

Count me in as dumb phone lover too. Though smart is not the problem. I dont like the full touch designs.

I am yet to really try out a smartphone or a touchscreen phone for a good length of time. But my next phone is likely to be a mix of touch and smartness, so we'll find out what I prefer. However I have nothing against feature phones and would still seriously consider one.

Nope!
I don't care about answering emails on my phone or doing anything online with my phone either.
A phone is fine but a media player included would be appreciated so long as a 3.5mm port is available!
Hate the proprietary ports that most phone companies like SE use!
A decent camera that takes DECENT pictures would be appreciated but it's not a priority for it in a phone since I already have a digital camera.
Besides, good reception and good battery life are the essential points anyway!
Though I'll admit that every few years, I would like a phone with newer technology so as not to become obsolete!
BTW... SE is changing their phone format now.
Unfortunately, no one really knows their plans.
For example, W995 is supposedly the last Walkman phone as SE was stated to combine the Walkman and Cybershot camera phones into one unit!

Not that I don't like smartphones, but I did go back to basics that's why I bought the C901 and loving it. But I do admit that using a smartphone is somewhat stressing cause you're always on the hunt for the latest software available. So you're not alone. |

Hmmm....its a nice question to ponder about ...
since most of my friends have a symbian or windows smartphone to talk off and this is my 5th dumb phone ...but when i hear stories of their phone's hangups and formats i am happy to say my k660i acts as a good phone, capable camera backup, media player, and a email / internet device if the need arises .....
this makes me wonder whether i ever need a smartphone ... might be a larger screen non-smartphone is the way to go next
