Frmware: R9K009.
Never dropped.

The automatic keylock sometimes doesn't activate leaving the backlight on until I mannually lock the phone. I have performed master reset to no avail.

I must stress that this happens sometimes and not always but it bugs me in that it is a malfunction that may activate a few functions when the phone is unlocked.

Any ideas?

This has occasionally happened to me, I find a simple restart, removing the battery when it's off, cures it. I'd say it was a bug in the firmware, probably to do with memory usage, that causes it sadly.

I have however had no such problems since using iphonelock as an alternative - just remember to set UsePowerSaving=0 in the .ini file, as leaving this activated also causes problems with the backlight.

@tranced

Since you've had it before with the P990i, do you have another solution other than the one AD provided or you just lived with it?

Okay.
I'll try AD's solution when I get home and see what happens.
