Fireftp plugin for firefox 3 is the fastest, lightest and probably best free ftp app at the moment. http://fireftp.mozdev.org/

There is no such thing as good free web hosting, believe me.. 5quid host provide decent quality hosting for even less than 5 quid, though:

There's no such thing as free bandwidth. I bet there's some small print somewhere on those hosting sites. Even we have a bandwidth limit on our dedicated servers, although it 'aint small, and we pay silly money per month for those!

It's all about how many sites are on the same shared server as yours, and where in the world that server is in relation to the majority of your visitors.

5quid host offer various plans. I'm intersted as to why you see 20Gb bandwidth per month as low? It's more than enough for most start-up sites, providing that you're not offering bandwidth heavy video streams or such like?

No its not that i see 20GB as too low my only concern is that i'll be needing more bandwidth because i'm uploading more than 10 sites seperate websites possibly more none have video streaming or anything like that they will just be static pages

Or, if you have an old pc at home, turn it into a server
Also, to get a url for a home server, use http://no-ip.com and their DUC
