Hi!
I have been playing with the internal GPS and the included software Wayfinder...
but im really dissapointed of the reciepment of the GPS!!! very bad signal when you are on vacation with friends
at forest on a camping place for example...

And i also tried to use it on the highway.. i was sitting in the backseat with the phone up in my side windows..
when GPS was connected...disconnected...connected...disconnected.. blabla.. no stable..not even with clear sight!

My TomTom Go 720T was working superb!!! but not the SE C905!

Im using the latest firmware that are available on SE homepage.

Is this internal GPS this bad? or is it a C905 software thing/bug?

Are there any other software for this GPS-phone that i can use instead of Wayfinder Navigator??

I use MGMaps because it allows you to download and use offline maps but it doesn't track in realtime. Position is updated every 2-3 seconds.

GPS signal on my G705 is ok it never drops when in use.

Another wallet-friendly alternative would be TrekBuddy. It's pretty advanced for a J2ME app and there are quite some offline maps available for it. Here's the link: http://www.trekbuddy.net

It works very nicely on C702 and C905 if you can mind the map graphics (no satellite view as I reckon)

If you are still looking for software alternatives, you could give GpsMid a try. It uses offline vector maps so it can search, zoom and do simple routing all without needing any network connection or incure any other costs. It also allows you to save and display tracklogs in form of GPX files. You can find a version with swedish maps included here. The map data for it is provided by OpenStreetMap.

The C905's GPS is a joke. It hardly worked... all my other PDA or GPS devices gets a fix reliably within 1 minute while this one connects in 2-3 minutes and keeps disconnecting. Crap

All you need to do is to clear the GPS cache and it should work. Service Menu > Service Test > GPS > Clear cache

have you tried Amaze? its another free GPS app. My 905 should arrive Tuesday, and I will test out Amaze, and Wayfinder.
