Flash W995 to W995a? |

I live in the US and ovioulsy the 3G on my w995 dosent work here, sony is coming out with the w995a soon and I was wondering if they come out with a firmware for w995a and I apply it to my phone, will it have 3G?

i dont think so. it might get your phone bricked. some guys have tried to flash k790 to k800/k810 and they wont work. so it will happen the same i think

Unlikely as the whole point of SE bringing out an 'a' version is due to the different 3G networks in use there meaning different hardware is needed in the phone. If you were able to simply flash it, I'm pretty sure you there wouldn't be this issue in the first place. |

It also depends on the carrier.
T-Mobile USA's tech support stated that 3G "should" be possible with the w995 version when they told about the broadband specs (2100).
Haven't tried it to confirm it since I use Wifi, instead!
Don't know about ATT, though!
The w995a version, according to news reports, literally has different circuitry to make the phone more compatible with the phone networks in the Americas ("a" designation for N and S America).
