I've noticed my T68 with R1B is exceptionally slow in menus. I am going to upgrade to the latest version soon, but so far I have been waiting for the new version to come out. Maybe I should stop waiting and just get it upgraded already, it is for free right? If I go now, would I get R2A or R2B something?

Anyways, about the slow menus. I did a test to see exactly HOW slow it is. I compared my Ericsson T68 to my fathers Nokia 8210 to see just how much difference there is between them. Do note that I am accustomed with both phones as I have owned both Nokias and Ericssons before, and I did the tests several times to make sure that they would be correct.

Here is the test:
1) Start stopwatch
2) Turn off keylock
3) Add a new contact named 'Keith' and last name 'Johnson'
4) His number is 123456789
5) Save, and turn on keylock again

On my T68 with R1B, it took 44 seconds.
On the 8210, it took 25 seconds.

How fast can you do it on your phone? I would love to hear that the new software is fast, but I really doubt anyone with a T68 can get below ~35 seconds even with the newest software!

Thry the new 8310.... It is not as fast as 8210. Indeed, 8210 was really fast, but with many bugs and problems. At is time though, it was excellent phone.

Well, at my first attempt it took only 29.2 seconds, so i guess that with practice u could cut those numbers a bit more..

29 seconds? That is impossible! Even if you were 300% faster than me at writing text you still wouldnt be able to cut as much as 16 seconds!

Sure you have R1B? This is weird..

I made it in 32 on my first try without doing it perfect so below 30 should not be a problem.

Must we use the mobil stopwatch?

I used my pc clock...

I then used 28 seconds on my T68 (R2A) Here is some 'tricks' to make it fast:

-Use the YES button as confirmation, not joystick.
-Start writing the names before the menu enters. The phone keeps track of the letters.
-After entering the phonenumber (123456789) press NO and answer YES to 'Save before exit'.
-When back in the main window, use the option button+1 to turn on keylock.

If you do it right you will manage the task within a half minute...

Took me forty-five seconds... and that was after I f**ked up the first two times
it is AWFULLY slow...

I try and tell myself to RELAX and enjoy myself while doing something with my phone... then it's like you're being slow on purpose....

It took me a while to figure out that you didn't mean I should use the Phone's stopwatch!

But I did it, three times... the first two times I failed, had to change Jeith to Keith, my times were 39 seconds and 36 seconds. However the third time everything went as planned and the time was 28 seconds.

Still... The phone's menu is a little bit slow.. especially in input.

The software in my phone is R2B

Mee thinks that the new pink T68 I have seen out there with R4Abbb1ct+ software version is 0.0121% faster than the now old silver T68 with R1Cghhhk-

Isn't this a big fantastic news?
