Right guys
I have a question, basically yesterday when shopping some woman went into the back of my car and left quite a big scratch down the back of my car. Now thankfully she did leave her details and I gave her a call, and basically she admitted fault.
Now obviously I want my car fixed, but what is the best way to go about it. Go through insurance or go through and just send her a bill (which she agreed to do) now the problem is I don't want her to turn around and say no she wont pay the bill. But I also dont want her to change her mind and denigh it to the insurance company meaning I could loose my no claims bonus.
What is the best way to go about this?
If it was a smaller scratch not 2 ft long id prob leave it, but it aint going to polish out...
Any advice be great ta

Insurance mate!
If she went into the back of you it's highly unlikely that it'll be seen as your fault...
Dont take the risk of her not paying up!

Get a couple of quotes, and ring her to agree for her to pay before you get the work done. Failing that, go through the insuance route.

For sure insurance...
If you car was parked there is no way it can be your fault unless you were parked illegally, but I trust you took pics of where you were parked?
If it's not your fault you shouldn't have to pay any excess at all...

I was parked and not even in the car. I came out of the shop and saw it, and was foaming, but only saw the note today when fixing my window motor (whole nother story)

get a few quotes, tell her how much they are, get her to pay the cash to you before you get it fixed.
If she doesnt agree then insurance all the way.
Just to warn you it may take some time though insurance. My car got hit while in a carpark, eg i wasnt with the car ect ect. (saw it happen as i was walking out...) Our insurance companys had a battle at who was at fault? even though the other person admited fault.
If you go insurance route. Tell them your picking where its fixed.
Good Luck

I was putting it bluntly rammed by a woman in a Honda CRV while sitting at the lights.
She tried every stunt in the book to get out of it including, I rolled backwards into her, Which back fired when the damage was in excess of £3000, someone else must have hit me after she did, which also back fired as the car was transported away from accident scene, then conveniently her vehicle disappeared when it was time to have it inspected, which also back fired as the vehicle inspector saw it 5 houses down as he came to view it.
Some will try anything to get out of it.
GO THROUGH THE INSURANCE.

Basically I took it to the audi place earlier and they are dealing with everything for me inc doing the insurance papers etc as it is an audi which i think is pretty cool. ALso a courtesy car when it is in shop which will be nice as I have to go to my bros graduation - nice to turn up in a sweet ass a3/a4! lol
