hi

maybe the sms service center number is not set correctly. try to check that or ask your operator to help you out there

this is a common UIQ problem.. at least on my G900, but i don't have to turn it off, it only dalays my sms 2-3 minutes. Still annoying, and still made me so angry i am selling the phone. Try to flash the firmware. There is nothing else you can do.

Hi, I had exactly the same problem with my W960 where it would only receive texts after being turned off and then on again. However I believe the reason for my problem was there were a lot of messages still in the inbox and sent mesages (about 3000 all together). Once i deleted all the messages the phone worked perfectly.

Seeing as you've have master reset the phone you shouldnt have any messages on it, however if you backed up all your messages and restored these as well then it may be an idea to just delete the old messages and see if this helps. It solved my problem.
