Hello,I recently purchased a PowerBook off of a Powerseller on Ebay.

It was sent by CityLink who tried posting at my house and then lost the parcel. I believe the seller has got his money back but he says he will not give my my £220 back as he has "lost too much money" on the deal.

Isn't the money rightfully mine? What can I do if he refuses to pay up?

I payed by cheque by the way.

Thanks.

Hmm. Is here in your country ??

If he has been reimbursed then there is no real reason to refuse a refund.

Open a complaint.

This is why I only use my credit card for Ebay/Paypal purchases or monies sending.

Lost £300 due to a dodgy seller and Paypal saying sorry we can't get money from seller as he has cleaned out his account, at least the credit card company can pull funds back from Paypal.

the money that you paid for the book should be returned to you now. Then the seller should claim back the money off DirectLink

Paypal will sort it out just use the dispute function

Paypal wont have anything to do with it as he paid by cheque.
Have you talked to the seller or has it been by email?

Seen this before, contact ebay so they aware of situation, you may have some comeback under the distance selling reg`s?, contact city link and check a claim was made and by who, this might get you an address is you not already have one?

Sounds a little unlikely that it was just lost? you probs find that the same item will be back up for sale under another seller name in a few weeks time

Should it not be your responsibility to claim the money after the item has left the seller's possession?
Surely it has nothing to do with him now. Are you saying he's taken your money, and then claimed the money for the lost laptop?

How did the seller know it was lost?? If he has already claimed against it then he has basically stolen money from you, He has claimed against goods that were/are not his

The sender makes the claim for lost items, I had to do this before.

It seems very dodgy that you paid then he claimed and now refuses to reimburse you.

You're entitled to:
a)The PowerBook
or
b)Your money.

Make it clear to this fool that he hasn't lost a penny. You paid up after all.
eBay should resolve this.
