After reading through a googleplex of pages, my eyes have crossed, and my brain is seriously in a knott.

I'm trying to decide whether to debrand via A2uploader (if I can figure out which one will be ok), or via Davinci.

I have a (Canadian) Rogers branded C905A, Red/CID 53.
*the firmware for my Rogers brand is available on Davinci as R1DF004, but it's listed as a CID52 and under the C905 section, and not the C905a section.

Do I have to choose a CID53 firmware since that's what A2uploader has indicated about my phone, or am I allowed to flash to a CID52 labled file?

The reason I'm confused is because on Davinci's site, there's C905 firmwares, and there's C905A firmwares, and I'm not sure which firmware is the newest which will work on my phone.

All I really want to do is unbrand my phone to the newest Generic America firmware, and I have no clue which file I need to start searching for until I can figure out the above.

Thanks for your time!

The same ones as my phone right now,

C905 R1DF004 CID49,CID52,CID53 ROGERS WIRELESS CANADA/NIGHT BLACK ROGERS - EN CF XL PB
(I believe it's - English, Canadian French, Spanish, Portuguese).

I've already gathered the Main/FS files for R1BA034 Red52, but like I said, I'm not sure whether flashing my CID53 with a CID52 can be done without messing my phone up.

Thank you! That's what I was looking for.

So, going through firmwares on WotanServer, I've seeked out that I can either start looking for the files for
R1BA038 CID53
R1DA032 CID53
since they both have Generic America listed as their supported phones.

And then, on the A2uploader note, I was able to find UCD (Ultimate CDA generator), which I'm going to try in a bit.
But before I do, I just need to know my original CDA, and I've opened up the Service menu on my phone to which I'll copy verbatim.

luchhas - I was thinking of doing 1209-4778 (Generic America, R6a), whereas you sent me a file with 1212-6123 (Customized BR R4A). Think it's of any great difference?

Thank you guys so much, I was able to find all the info I needed and successfully debranded my Rogers phone to a generic firmware. I was even able to reflash it to my branded firmware so that I could write down the MMS/WAP settings to input into my new debranded firmware!

I'm a happy guy right now!

Happy to hear it worked for you. Can you tell me how you were able to rebrand to the rogers firmware (ie, what the original rogers CDA was) it may have been covered above, but I wasn't able to gather which of the many CDAs mentioned above was used. Also, can you confirm which CDA you ended up using to get the debranded c905a for America firmware?
Thank you in advance.

I ended up using CodeClaw's Ultimate CDA Generator 3.0 to create my Customize_upgrade.xml file.

I originally flashed using Lucchas's suggestion (1212-6123 R4A), then lost internet/wap settings.
I then sort of took a risk by comparing my original Service Menu info with the new Service Menu info after I flashed my phone, and figured out which line tells you the CID you're currently using. Rogers = 1219-5389 R11A. I reflashed to Rogers and copied down all internet settings and whatnot.
Then, I tried flashing to GENERIC_AMERICA 1209-4778, but when I tried updating the firmware via SEUS, it said that I had the newest firmware, didn't update, and left me with the Rogers branded software.

So I flashed back to 1212-6123, and typed in all my WAP settings, and now everything works fine!

Thanks for the info, I'll give it a shot tonight.
FYI in case you need to do more flashing sometime in the future, you can have sony send the WAP settings straight to you phone by visiting this link http://www.sonyericsson.com/c[....]phonesetupwap/c905?lc=en&cc=ca

Just a quick question. Does the Rogers firmware allow for ringtones that are loaded from the memory card?

I have had complaints from a few people saying they do not allow.
But I am not sure if that was for a C905.

Hey guys,

How were you able to do this part? I debranded my phone using a2uploader, and i lost the internet and MMS and internet settings

I was able to manually input the internet settings to get it working, but it changed the layout of my MMS settings and rogers tech support was unable to help me to input them manually. Anyone know how I can input the Rogers MMS settings, or essentially get MMS working again??

Hi!
I also have a c905. I donīt know wich one. It is bought in Asia and i live in sweden. For the moment, the firmware is a chinese version but i want to change it for a nordic and generic one. But i also want that SEUS shall understand it so the erom needs to be changed for the swedish custumisation file.

I have a k850i that i have changed the cid string on, then i was using Kulankendi Klient but it does not have for the c905.

Where shall i begin?

Wich program shall i use for phones new like this?

Best regards
Andreas
