Morning,

I tried updating my W705 last night via the Sony Ericsson Update Service.
I made sure I had a backup first, then kicked off the update.

It downloaded the new 80Mb firmware image, started to update then complained about the battery not being at 100% (it did have a full charge) and now the damn thing won't power up!
Help! SEUS has just bricked my phone!

Apart from sending it off to a repair centre, what are my options?

Thanks,

Jason

charge the phone....
then use xs++ to flash main and firmware to your phone...
SEUS is a very bad service......
because it locks our phones...
XS++ is very easy, free and reliable...
it gives easy-readable error logs...
humour is what makes me laugh...

Hi there,

Thanks to everyone who's responded so far.
I've attempted to re-use SEUS and it gets anywhere between 1% and 10% before giving up (retried multiple times).
I've tried using XS++ but it says:

This is after SEUS took a stab at updating it and quit after getting 5% of the way through.
Is the W705 supported with this tool?

Thanks,

Jason

xs++ does not support new phones(a200/db3150-3210)

use the A2 file access & flasher tool instead.

Well thanks for all the options guys.
I managed to eventually update the firmware on the W705 after finding another computer to install SEUS on. Originally I was using Parallels on a Mac which kept failing but when I went to a native PC, the update went through OK.

Virtual machines - they work great until something like this happens!
Why don't release a Mac version of their damn software I'll never know

Cheers.
