Ive been waiting for a W995 for a few months now, forgot about the x1, but recentley i saw play.com are selling them for 400 and the W995 will be 380. Question is, which one should i choose?? Should i take the risk with WM or stick with A200 which im pretty board with tbh and really need a change. Can some one please answer these questions.

1.) Im quite fast when using my phone for basic tasks ie sending a text message, which is faster A200 or WM??

2.) I wont be using an X1 for modding and using loads of apps etc i would just use the media section, the camera, text messaging, interent browsing, and some light gaming and thats pretty much it, would the X1 be okay for just that?? (i dont mind there been all these extra feats)

3.) Is the media player fast, ie browsing photos, choosings songs etc??

4.)Can you minimize the music player while the music is playing??

5.)Can the text message section be used on the panels page??

6.)If i set an alarm on the X1 will it still go off even if the phone is switched off??

7.)Can you have more than one page of panels??

Thanks for answers, im really considering the X1 and your opinion will really help me decide.

Texting is much faster 'cos it's a qwerty on X1. The availability depends on how you set your Panel.

2.) I wont be using an X1 for modding and using loads of apps etc i would just use the media section, the camera, text messaging, interent browsing, and some light gaming and thats pretty much it, would the X1 be okay for just that?? (i dont mind there been all these extra feats)

Absolutely OK - but I'm not sure how good it is about gaming.

3.) Is the media player fast, ie browsing photos, choosings songs etc??

Sure.

4.)Can you minimize the music player while the music is playing??

Sure.

5.)Can the text message section be used on the panels page??

What do you mean?? There's no messaging panel.

6.)If i set an alarm on the X1 will it still go off even if the phone is switched off??

No.

7.)Can you have more than one page of panels??

No. 1 page = 9 panels. But you can quickly change them

When it comes to gaming it has the hardware: Graphics acceleration with 64mb or 128mb RAM reserved for graphics and most games that exsist in Java have WM versions that have far better graphics and audio. plus you have a full QWERTY keyboard and landscape screen so it should be far better for gaming than a A200 phone.

The "Panels screen" is really only an intermediate screen. It only stays on for a few seconds before returning to the last chosen panel. It is not like the iPhone home screen.
When you receive a text message, you will get a window that let's you choose whether or not to reply to the message. This window pops up over any panel/program you may be running.

6.)If i set an alarm on the X1 will it still go off even if the phone is switched off??

I haven't tried, but I imagine that off means off. There's no need to turn the X1 off. It should run 24 hrs a day.

7.)Can you have more than one page of panels??

This would be a nice feature considering that panels as-is are not what was originally promised from SE (active panels).
You can have tons of shortcuts to apps if you customize a SE panel to have nothing but program links. Each panel can have up to 50 program/dialing shortcuts. 8 panels * 50 shortcuts gives you plenty of options. Of course you could just get MS Voice Command and say the name of the program and it will run.

It sounds like you should be choosing between W995 and iPhone.

Hey even I was thinking of choosing between c905, x1i and w995. Just one question, how bad is the camera of x1i as compared to w995 or c905?

That's a pretty subjective question thats hard for anyone to answer to your satisfaction. Personally I don't think any SE phones have bad cameras. If you want a bad camera buy an iPhone.

I would check out the X1 thread for sample photos and see if they are satisfactory to you. Or you could find members who own an X1 and click on their profile and look at the photos they've unloaded to the Esato gallery.

I'm no photography expert but I can get good results from 2.0Mp non A/F SE camphones. X1 should pose no problems especially in good lighting.

I really like X1's cam. It has the touch focus which is really nice and the quality is good imo. Look here for some of my shots: http://www.esato.com/phonephotos/index.php?make=HTC&model=X1i

They are made with the HTC camera interface, hence the HTC X1i and the widescreen resolution, but it's just X1. Here are some X1 pics made with the standard camera interface: http://www.esato.com/phonepho[....]SonyEricsson&model=XPERIA%20X1

Thank you carkitter and domi post.

I had the impression that the camea was bad, after reading a couple of reviews. But seeing these pics, they seem to be pretty good! I will wait until 28th may to decide whether i should buy x1i or not.. since i screwed my n96 by dropping it in water

Thanks.

The X1i is currently the only model from SE that can record VGA@30fps although sound is not good. There's a sample video in Modaco's X1 review.

X1 camera is able to make great pictures in Sport mode.
It's very quick and sharp.
I often do it this way and than if it's too dark I eventually edit it...
I also have a great picture edit app XnView.

I've had the c905 for a while now and I love the camera but the colors aren't true they usually come out looking faded or washed out. Its a very quick camera thought and the xenon flash is bright.

For the x1 the camera seems to lag quite a bit for me. And the camera isn't as easy to use for me. I think the phones are completely different for me though. Too bad the Saito doesnt have a full qwerty i would get that phone.
