Can someone please tell me if or when SE are going to change their charging ports to something smaller more user friendly and more versatile? I am annoyed by the size of the plugs and the fact that my c510 cant charge and plug in the headphones at the same time. Why dont they have a seperate plug for headphones than having the same one for charging. And why dont the headphones in my c510 box come with the same charger as my old K800i where i can plug both headphones in at same time as charging? Is it deliberate of SE to make us buy headphones so they make more money. All this is one thing i hate about SE phones. Not much else really i hate about them. Rant over.

There is a special open ended charger you can buy which allows you to plug in headphones too. They should ship this with every phone.

How about a 3.5mm jack & usb mini socket for charging & data transfer, would make life much easier.

That's the idea which has been discussed for years... and MicroUSBs are supposed to be standard starting 2009!

Yes they should ship that as standard with each phone the charger with room for headphones. To make things worse my charger is so short it does not reach my bed from the socket i gotta buy extension or rearrange my room oh life LOL

The old K600 , V600 , z800 , v800 , had mini usb sockets back in 2004/2005 , no reason why there newer phones can't have mini usb.

This is one of the reasons why i cant stick to my SE for long, with my k850 i got the charger that allows plugging in headphones on top of the charger port, sounds like a great idea but its so annoying in real life and just looks ridiculous, realy do hope SE change it, NOKIA have changed their chargers twice, starting from N85 and the N86 have the new MicroUSB charger, would be nice if the final product of Idou got this to ,the W995 kinda has the right idea though, but will be uncomfortable to hold while that big SE charger port is plugged in.

I just think much as i love SE they still need to catch up with regards to certain things. Shame really maybe soon they will realise. Its just i find it so awkward with their cumbersome chargers and lack of proper headphones sockets considering they make Walkman phones I am happy that manufacturers like SE and LG when plugged into a pc charges the phone. But like also the W595 i have recently won whilst its a great phone and cant wait to get it the charging socket is too near the keypad which makes it awkward when plugged in and texting

My w890i came with such a charger last year.

As my SE's are normally not in use when charging I don't find the "fast port"
an issue. It's also useful in that you have a single connector type for all the
accessories instead of one port for data/charge another for the headphones ...
those who worry about dust getting inside the phone take note .....
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

Oh dear thats no surprise. One thing i can say about the fast port on Sony Ericsson phones at least they normally do fit in securely. Though sometimes you have to wriggle it around a bit till it starts charging

Well recently I’ve faced a terrible disaster with fast port on C902. Every time when I going to charge the phone, it gives me a real challenge; maximum time it doesn’t recognize the charger and same to the headphones. Connect to computer with DATA cable is only dream to me. This is my 14/15 number phone of SonyEricsson and as I remember with every phone I faced difficulty with this St*p*d port. I’m always using my phones carefully so this is not my using problem, after couple of months using headphones or frequently charging; it become loose.

I think they are using fast pot for marketing purpose. When you lose you headphone or charger then you must have to buy another one from them, you can’t get or use from others. Some other brands don’t think in this way and they do well even in now global economical crisis.

So end of the Story; I won’t ever ever ever ever buy any SonyEricsson with this port. I don’t care about miniusb or 3.5 jack but fast port in my life again; never. Example I spent $1000US on P990i and it gave same, this time I spent $600US on C902 and result is same. When we pay large amount money, we naturally expect quality but SonyEricsson nowadays failed to deliver that and this is the main reason to company’s present status on the market.
