so.....
whos gonna win people?
i think its going to be a great match. both teams are in good form. id say Barca in slightly better for at the moment though, Man U has been going through a rough patch in recent weeks.
ill put my vote in for Barcelona. I think they have been fantastic all year. They are well and truly ahead in the Spanish league and just come off a 6-2 drumming of Real Madrid, Madrids home game mind you.
And Messi, how can i forgot, has scored almost 40 goals this season.
Not taking anything away from Man U as they are a great team, and can do as much damage as Barca, if not more, I just think Barca may get over the top.
And not to forgot, i really dont like Man u. |

I'm not keen on Man U but I think they're going to walk it. The Chelsea match yesterday went in Barca's favour only because of poor / unlucky refereeing but on the whole I thought Chelsea were the better team.
It will be an interesting tussle though.

I'm a bit of a Barcelona fan so I'm definitely going for them, even if I do still quite like Man U.
I must say though, I have a feeling Man U will take it. Barcelona will be without Dani Alves and Eric Abidal and I'm not sure but maybe no Puyol in their defensive line too! And I'm not sure whether Henry will be back from injury either, so that's already quite a few players possibly out of the final!
Looking at Man U, well they thrashed Arsenal really didn't they? And Christiano Ronaldo looks to be in top form. He scored such an amazing goal from that free kick and he was running through Arsenal's defense all night while his team fired through balls at him.
I'm thinking Man U, but I'm wanting Barcelona to win.

I really cant personally understand why Barca are always tipped as the best european side... i didnt see the game last night, but saw the 1st leg against Chelski and they were a far cry from being 'the best' side in Europe. All of the English sides that were in the competition this season i reckon could beat Barca - more strength, more hunger, more desire, more passion. Even though their attacking options are good, they look a little uninspired in the final third unless something is created by Messi.
Suppose it's just a credit to the English game, the Premier League is miles better than any other league... it's moving away from the Spanish/Italian leagues. Barca etc are flying in their leagues cos the quality of football they play is only evident in 2 or 3 other sides in the league.
Sooooo... being a Utd fan, naturally i'm going to say Utd FTW!! Such a shame for Fletcher to be missing the final... that really was a great tackle and the card & suspension should be revoked.

I'm going to play the match out tomorrow on FIFA 09 against my younger brother, with likely line-ups. Will tell you all how it goes.

this topic could get a little heated i think.
my original post i admit was one sided. but couldnt be bothered analysing both sides
english prem league so far ahead??? Maybe Man U. Not the reat imho
O, and its difficult to beat Man U in fifa 09. they are just too quick. unless you use the classic 11
then again, i beat my mate 8-0 yesterday with spain, him using man u. i think it was those two teams? we played quite a few games

Hey, it's footie, and what would footie be without a bit of the old banter
The Premier League is IMO far ahead of other league, it's the most exciting, fast paced league around. Spanish/Italian football can be played at a patient, slow, boring pace at the best of times! Also other teams in the Prem are starting to catch up with 'the big four'.. Villa are there or there abouts, Everton are too. Man City are also trying to buy their way to the top too. Couldnt really name 6 or 7 teams out of each top league in Europe that are a threat in the European comps.
As for FIFA pah... Pro Evo all the way (or could this be for another thread? )

That was the most pathetic refereeing I have seen in a long while!
Chelsea were really hard done by the referee. I didn't care much who won since I don't like ManU but was hoping for Chelsea. I feel ManU have a slight edge over Barca and that is why I think they are going to lift the trophy.

fifa ftw!!!
as for english footy, are you forgetting Italy and Spain current champs of the world/europe. It may be a slower game, but its a much better skilled one at that! And it shows.

@>500 I think you're forgetting how shocking teams like England are in competitions... So it doesnt work both ways lol
A lot of the good Spanish players play in the Prem now too
@EMS06 I've only heard about the refereeing last night, but from that I can gather that it was utterly shocking. 4 penalty decisions turned down pfff. Chelski definitely sound like they deserved it over the 2 legs... but it's about putting the ball in the back of the net i guess Also Fletcher being sent off was wrong... these referees have to be totally on their game when in charge of massive matches like these - and that, they were not!

I think the pace of the Prem league teams shocks some of the European sides. The Liverpool v Real Madrid game was a prime example.

Chelsea deserved it over 2 legs? WAH!!!
They sat back like little girls in the 1st leg. Thats not playing proper football. So they defo didnt deserve anything there. And Barcelona clearly dominated that game. 70% posession and i think 20 shots on target.
@goldenface
works both ways. prem league cant handle the slower game. AC Milan v Liverpool last year i think being a prime example.

@RyAN
I watched the game last night and watched it again this morning and I can say without hesitation the referee was really bad. I can forgive one or maybe 2 denied penalty appeals but 4! Even if I remove one incident from 4 I still fail to see how he could've missed 3.
@>500
Now I know what your intentions for this thread are. Seriously though, the 6-2 hammering of Real Madrid didn't surprise me. Madrid are just not the team we know, Liverpool proved that not so long ago. I can't see how they will beat ManU, I just can't.

@EMS06
i have no intentions. honestly. just getting into the mix of things
all for a little fun. not really being too serious.
I could post in a more serious, meaningful nature, but cant be bothered at the moment.
but i am happy to sit back and listen to some 'constructive' arguements as to who will win. hence why i made the thread
