my k790c has some really irritating problem and needs to be constantly reflashed using xs++ as it starts with getting the themes corrupt and then the sms's start getting corrupt and then it will gradualy not able to switch on. the only way is to reload the fs, main and the option to avoid getting the configuration error..... Any ideas on how I can sort this issue out once and for all? Am i not flashing the k790 properly or ??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! |

have used both r8bf003 and r1kg001 these both give me similar issues. I tried r1kg001 first then used r8bf003 now back to r1kg001 |

Hmm thats a strange problem mate and ive never heard of it before. I would have thought flashing would have cured that. Maybe its hardware related. I can only suggest taking it for repair.

the thing is in the place where i am living there aint no proper guys who can fix this phone. the last guy i took it to ended up flashing it wit a wrong main and fs and trashed it. I revived it by using setool 1.08!!
Also I started having problems with the background light. it would have a 30 sec delay before showing up... which meant every time a call came in i couldnt see the display I reflashed it and that problem is fixed now but I seem to have lost my speaker output. the external speaker works and the headset works. I have a feeling its something to do with the internal memory getting corrupt and now its gone onto the phone system thats why the speaker inside has stopped. The speaker is working fine as I tested it outside.
ideas??? |

Think you should think about getting a new phone.

Just reflashed again and noticed it is fine at the moment since I haven't uploaded the contacts back on. It seems that after I reload the contacts is when things start to get corrupt.... what could be causing this?? Could it be when I am dumping the contacts its somehow corrupting the filesystem?? I only have 180 contacts in total and some have multiple telephone numbers and only two contacts I have added email addresses.... so I am not sure this is the cause, could it be the speed at which the contacts get placed is affecting it? I also dont save any contacts on my sim card because if you have multiple telephone numbers for a contact it saves it twice!! |

Could it be the memory card?

I don't know. Take it out for a while and see how the phone behaves.
BTW Do you have a GDFS backup? I'm asking this because the GDFS contains a lot of vital information including IMEI, contacts and FS info. I'm wondering if that has got corrupted somehow. Messing with this is dangerous tho'.
If its not the M2 then I suggest taking it for repair or getting a new phone mate. It sounds like its getting tired!

The external memory has no issues tried leaving the phone without the M2 64MB but messages still get corrupt. BTW I had to replace the speaker which was faulty even though it looked fine.
I have the gdfs backup......but I am not sure if this gdfs is fine as I backed it up only after the phone started giving me these problems and before that I never tinkered around with this phone so I didnt know I had to take a backup of the GDFS I only used to backup my Contacts...
Are there anyways of getting another GDFS and flashing it on top of the one I have or will it then change my IMEI? I have the imei numbers so if there is a way of editing the gdfs for this???? I am still a newbie as far as flashing is concerned but am able to get around if pointed in the right direction..
Getting another phone is not a issue, its just I have grown attached to this phone and have really learnt a lot about flashing using xs++ and the setool lite and am sure I am missing a step somewhere down the line where it could be the gdfs or the erom..
