Hi All,

Newbie here..

Well I pulled out my old p800 today! and yes I miss that phone lol. remember the days when it first came out I showed off all the new features it had..

It still working fine.. I especially like the simple interface and the CICs JotPro
..where you just write the words/symbols on the screen..

are their any more p800 lovers out there?

I wanted to know what sony ericsson latest phone to this series is? or was the p910i the last one..

I haven't kept to date and so many phones have been released since then..

After the P910i was the P990i and P1i. There are no more P series.

Imo the P990i was the last true P series phone, the P1i was different at some points (keys, no flip).

Paris (supposedly P5i) got cancelled a while back, you can still catch a proto floating around here for a couple of hundred pounds but you'll have to be lucky!

The P5 appeared to be cancelled very late in the day (ie close to release) so yes, the prototype is probably very close to if not identical to what the finished product would have been. But of course it's all hypothetical now since the whole project was killed stone dead a year ago. Since then, UIQ itself (the OS which was the cornerstone of the whole P series) has been shut down, the company dismantled, its intellectual property handed over to the Symbian Foundation, whose "unified" OS appears to be entirely based on S60 instead.

The P800 was a great phone and should have been the foundation of something much bigger and brighter, but IMHO SE soon grew complacent and squandered the lead they had. The P900 and P910 were just lazy rehashes of the same product, and UIQ3 (the basis of the phones after that) was a disaster from the start.

Boinng you are right!

No other phone had the quailties the p800 did at that time.. like even a small feature like zooming into a picture was ten times better than other phones.. like it was the 'iphone' of its time (without the rival phones).. altho I think p800 far better still

iphone strategy shows fingerprints of p series all over it!

Well Steve Jobs was apparently very fond of the P800, so who knows.
