I recently learnt the "art" of phone modding... (just know how to use the FAR Manager with JDFlasher plugin)
I modded my phone and now its not working well.. it starts up slow. the camera exits automatically while clicking a pic.. and does not save it.. The phone needs to be restarted and then only it behaves properly.. The battery backup has decreased tremendously... it used to run nearly 3 days earlier...and now only 1.5 days..
The phone gets hot very quickly while using it..

The mods that i made to it
1) display of k510
2) bazurka cam driver
3) some accoustics (name forgotten)
4) activity menu (modded the up key for it)
5) battery menu (shows temp, volt and all)
6) techmode
7) new layout without operator name
pic layout to 3x3
9) menu icons moddded

Could it be coz i have loaded my cell with nearly 100 games and 45 apps...

help me out..

and if anybody suggests flashing the phone... please supply the tutorial and instructions.. (i am a newbie)

Thanks

Sounds similar to the idea of trying to tow an elephant with a Mini, heck of a strain and would kill it eventually.

Why not just buy a better phone?...

remove some games and application wc not needed to save ur phone, maybe it uses too much memory..

i moved all the games >400kb to my memory card... but its almost the same..
and battery is giving me jitters now. its just working a day with my usual listening to music and playing games. Earlier it used to give atleast 2 days backup...
Is it expected after the modding and the games??
I am certain that my usage has not changed...

It's quite possible its just faulty, surely?

If you're old enough to own a phone, and old enough to post on a forum, you must at least have pocket money you can save up to buy another cheap phone. There's plenty of phones as good as yours for £30-£40 these days.

Isn't it easier just to accept the fact that it's dieing?

you cant improve them. the phone has a limit and you seem to be pushing it too much. elves drain the battery faster as they use/demand more resources/memory.

The louder acoustics might be responable for the battery drain, especially if you use the loud speaker, also when using the loud at really high volumes it will heat up very quickly, i maxed out the volume in my W760 by tweaking the acoustics and after about a minute at max volume though the loud speakers the phone was pretty hot. The camdriver is reasonable for the pics not saving & the display driver is also reasonable for battery drain especially if it's brighter.

@Daedalus: I never heard a phone die by modding?? do they?? i guess they do when u seriously screw the EROM or something.
@number1: well its the display of K510 (an lcd) with k510 dispdriver.. it maybe that the orginal (QVGA disp) sucked less battery. but its better to have the lcd than a crap qvga screen.

All right thanks everybody..
got my major answer about the battery and speed (w200 is not made for such heavy modding and all of my observations are expected)

More suggestions welcome...

No, but phones can and do die by genuinely going faulty. I suspect maybe a) your battery is just worn out and b) perhaps the rest of the phone, or part of it, is going faulty. Plus, to be fair, you ARE pushing it well above and beyond its original intentions, and it's a very old phone, perhaps its best just to leave it alone?
