My trusty old k750i is a very good camera as well but it has its flaws.

I'm not complaining about the resolution or general pictire quality, it is sufficient for most of my cam shots.

The real problem for the cam is action shots. Shutter lag is horrible. Of course I've been spoiled lately by a fine SLR cam with close to no shutter lag at all but before that I've been shooting quite a lot with simpler point'n shoots that were much much better in this department than the sluggish k750i.

I would also very much appreciate good performance in low-light situations, this is always a big problem for simple cams like phonecams of course.

As far as I love the old k750i, I'd like to find a worthy replacement now. It should be just as snappy in the user interface as the k750i, just as reliable in basic functions, and have a very good camera like what I have now but FAR faster.

What should I get?

Suggestions are much appreciated. I might add that I have lots of computers around so I don't really need a "smartphone"-type phone. Just a very good cameraphone.

Do you have any shutter-lag data on that suggestion? For some reason I've found it difficult to find, maybe I'm not looking in the right places.

What is bugging the hell out of me with my current k750i is that it takes about a full second between my pressing the shutter and when the actual picture is taken.

Try capturing the fun stuff dogs or kids do under those circumstances... Sometimez I'm sort of clairvoyant and press the shutter before the fun stuff happens but let me tell you that's one pic out of a thousand....

Need a really fast cameraphone.

I can't tell you precise numbers because I can't find it either, but the shutter speed is quite fast. It's probably due to the xenon flash helping in low-light conditions. In daylight it's almost instantaneous. On the other hand the xenon is unusable in BestPic mode.

I'll have trip to the dealer an check this C905 out. Thanks for the suggestion, I understand it is difficult to find the data.

For gadgets advertsed as cameras, this is one of the most important parameters in tests. It happens to be so also for me in this case.

I have a very good phone, also a few very competent cameras, now I want something that is both in a reasonable compromise.

Yes it is impossible to avoid, I "just" want to know what would be the better options. Getting used to DSLR is a bich here... I'll never get fully satisfied but I want to come much closer than where I am now with the k750i.

Even with the C905 you won't get photos similar to a DSLR's, but in
camphone terms it's among the better and simpler ones.

All camphones have shutter lag, they need to use long exposure times and they need to give prioty to shutter speed rather than the iso to get better quality, i'd recommend the T650 or K770 they have a larger aperture so don't need such long exposure time like the rest.

I have the K770. It's a very good camphone but the autofocus is slow.

I suppose the memory you save pics to could make a difference too?

I'd say get a "new" k750. Best phone ever.

The C902 gets smeary in low-light,
wait for the C901 it has a xenon flash aswell , if you want a good camera phone, the C901 sample pics in the photo section look promising.

It's not a camera phone but i think the P1 makes very good pics, quite impressed by it's camera which i didn't even care about when buying it, the large 2.6" makes a excellent viewfinder and you can operate it by touch, also i find it to be pretty quick not suffering from too much shutter lag.

best camera against the money is C902 (without any doubts). it have also best buildquality among all other models which is a BIG Plus............

if you want even cheaper i should go for K810....(but A200 UI + all features makes C902 more funnier to use)

good luck

besides, C902 does not suffers of slow auto focus, (its nearly to fast and accurate ) without any exaggerate.
