My situation is a bit tricky... I live permanently in the UK but can get a French C905 on Orange France (which would then cost €75 to be unlocked).

The thing is, is it worth it to get it now, or simply wait? I mean, how many problems are going on with the C905 at the moment? Also, in terms of firmware, once the phone is unlocked, do I simply use standard firmware? Or will the firmware service pick up on the fact the phone was originally Orange France?

Any thoughts/comments much appreciated.

Once the phone is unlocked SEUS should recognize it is a generic phone. For C905 issues there are a lot of threads lying around here; you'll have a good read from them. What's the current price for C905 SIM free in your country?

Problems should be cleared up by now its over 6 months since its release. Two of my mates have just got one, no faults reported yet.

With the current rumor that there are refurbished units re-sold as brand new, it could be worth it getting a C905 if the previous problems on those units have been fully repaired. The price has also softened a bit.
