Cancelling Contract early - Iphone? |

Hi people, long time no speak.....anyway.....here is what I am wondering.
My current contract is an iPhone tariff and tbh I am seriously getting pissed off with the lack of minutes for the monthly charge, so would there be some way to cancel the contract early? I wouldn't even mind handing the phone back in.....i'd rather just start a new normal tariff and get a new phone that way?
Probably a crap idea and I will most likely just have to wait the rest of the 18 months but its worth a try?

You would have to pay the remainder of how many months are left up front before you can cancel it. Or consider calling O2 and finding out about changing your tariff with more mins.

Which tariff are you on? You should still be getting the same as any other O2 customer, unless you're on the bottom £30/month contract which is a pretty rubbish tariff anyway.
But no, you can't just 'cancel' it. It's a contract, i.e. legally binding, not something you can just stop when you feel like it.
I get customers who argue this with me, and they say "fine, I'll just stop the Direct Debit" and stand there looking smug and proud of themselves. Problem is if they do that, they still have to pay it or risk buggering up their credit by not paying it.
Best bet? If you're not happy, just ride it out, you've made a legally binding contract and it's not something to be taken lightly.

Im sure there must be a better tariff with more mins for not much more with all the current tariffs that O2 do? And as for legally binding contracts my friend ended up getting in a mess with his debts some while back and along with his debts had a contract. The CAB told him that phone contracts are worth nothing and hardly ever stand up in court of law. Not worth the paper there written on some say. Not actually my words by the way lol its what i hear quite alot though when it comes to law. Not that i am encouraging anyone to not pay and get in a mess or bad credit rating lol

I dunno which one Im on.....i think its probably is the bottom or second to bottom......I now that i keep going over by drastic amounts especially on the texts.
Daedalus I know its legally binding but I thought there may have been some chance you could cancel for a fee or something as long as you were to give up the phone? Also, yeh I know i've had a few contracts before and been perfectly happy.....but I've kinda realised how crap the iphone tariff is, especially as I got about 4 times as many minutes on my old T-mobile contract for like £5 less.....the iPhone isn't that brill either

lmao i'm not gonna just stop paying it so chill guys, I was just wondering if there was a way to cancel it properly?
And is the £35 the bottom one then? I really doubt I get 500 texts as I've only used about 250 so far this month but it still says I have none left :S

£30 is the bottom one, i think u only get 200 sms with that?? not sure :s go for the £35 a month plan u get 500 with that and add a £7.34 unlimited bolton and ur sorted  |

Sounds like thats the problem sorted.....although doesn't get rid of the problem of the iphone being so boring once the novelty has worn off

I love how you've seen the novelty wear off, made me smile cause I just wish people who buy it would realise that before they buy it lol.
Seriously, sell it and get something else, but keep the £35/month tariff. You can still use the mins and texts, and the unlimited internet will work on a normal phone too.

I think I might do that actually, how much would I be looing for an 8Gb iPhone 3G. Good condition excet has a slight surface mark on the chrome trim and some slight wear on the back where i've had it in a little tray in the car?
