Hi all,

I’ve recently upgraded the firmware in my phone so I can debrand it.

All went good but I just have a few questions.

I’ve got 2 lots of MAIN and FS firwares.

One of them has America on the title and the other is labelled Western Europe.

What would be the difference between the 2.

my other question is that when I use the a2uploader program to flash the phone, it says to press the “C” button whilst plugging the USB cable in. With the W760i, you need to press the number 5 instead of the ‘C’. Do I need to continue holding down the 5 whilst the firmware is being upgraded or do I only need to hold it down whilst its connecting?

Where is a good site to be able to get the latest Firmware?

Thanks again,
Slick1

Not EXACTLY sure, but I believe the American version of the firmware contains different spellings of some words, and the pre-installed apps may be a bit different.

You only need to keep the 5 button held down until the phone is found. Once you see stuff happening in A2, you can release the 5 button.

As for debranding your phone...I would recommend the link that I put below. I mean, you CAN go and search out your FW. I like doing that as well, but this process is much easier, in my opinion, and you at least know that the FW you're installing is totally official and has not been goofed off with. Plus, if you follow the directions carefully, you can literally install ANY firmware on your phone, without needing to search for it.
