So, I've been pacing (mentally) for days now wondering if blowing money on expensive shoes such as Air Max, Microbounce ect. (the athletic kind, "underground" air max = fail) is worth it. Seeing as this forum is packed with quite a few loaded folks, I was wondering if they're durable, comfy and all that stuff.
I'm mainly curious about durability. I'm looking for something very durable so that it will last 10-12+ months. My last pair of NB shoes got beat up VERY badly (holes!) after 6-8 months of average wearing. |

Nike trainers £60-70+ are usually quite well built! I've been wearing the same Nike Air Force 1 Lows since last May, and they're holding up very well. If it continues at the same rate, I'd say there's at least another year and half in them.

I actually found Nike to be one of the worst for durability and comfort. I work in the sport and leisure industry in various roles and hardly anyone will use Nike due to poor comfort and poor durability. Most of them would use brands like Adidas (myself included) as they provide better comfort, build quality, grip and your feet breathe better (reduce's sweaty smells). Mostly the only ones that turn up to our classes with Nike's are teenager's or the image conscious boys and girls who eventually start complaining that their feet are hurting or won't do any activity incase it marks their trainers.
I tried sniffing coke once but didnt like it. The bubbles kept going up my nose |

Fair point, they're hardly the most comfortable trainers, but they do look good. I wear the AF-1s for going out; never sport. For actual sport use, I have a pair of Adidas A3 trainers, and they are by far the best all rounders!

Thanks guys. Just checked out some a3 shoes.
They look pretty much like all of Bounce shoes by adidas. Would it be safe to say a pair of adidas Microbounce shoes is better for general athleticism than a pair of high end Nike shoes? |

My £19.99 Lonsdales tend to last me about ten months each time if that helps.
My opinions on this forum are that of my own and not of the company I work for. |

Well, yeah, if you're going for proper sport use of the shoe. Nike stuff tends to be all about the look and fashion these days, and the more exclusive the trainer, the better.
Never tried Adidas' Microbounce, but if my A3s are anything to go by, full length springs are awesome!

If its for more active stuff like running etc, maybe look at Ascics, Brooks, New Balance. |

My Adidas Microbounce I had for about 7-8 months and are still going strong, VERY comfy shoes, paid about £55 for them...Bought them because I run a lot.
Then decided to upgrade too Nike+ gear to use with my Ipod touch etc.
Paid about £60, sodding horrible shoes mate!
Had them a month and I get blisters every time after running, huge waste of money.
Nike+ is brilliant though lol.
