Hey ppl:) a Month ago I got my Sony Ericsson K850i and in the first 20 min's it shut itself down. I took it to Vodacare and I got it back the next day, it still didn't work. I took it back and they sent it to a third party repairer. Today I got it back and it still didn't work.
Obviously I was quite upset and then wanted to find out who the stupid technician is who fixed it. They told me that they couldn't tell me but they could tell me where the 3rd party repairer is. They told me and I took it there myself. When I asked them who @#%@ up, they told me that they never got that phone and that vodacare never sent it there. Bl00dy vodacare liars.
But anyway, they took about 30 mins to look at it and then told me that there is nothing wrong with the firmware, but they confirmed that the mainboard has a loose part and is faulty. That explains the "inactive-sim" message which I got sometimes. The circuit that comes from the simcard holder wasn't working and then if the phone was held at the right angle it would lose contact and switches off. I confirmed this myself. They told me that it was a manufacturing fault and then sent it away so that the mainbord could get replaced. The techniacian was really nice and told me that he will personally make sure the phone works before I get it back. It's going to take about 2 weeks.
But what I really enjoyed was watching the technician take the phone apart and test it! He realized that I had an interest in phones and let me watch him. He used weird software to flash it to new firmware, I asked him what it is, but he said that he was sorry but he can't tell me. |

Oh sorry totally forgot that part No he is only authorized to do level 1 and 2 repairs. They sent it in to a place called SSS to get the mainboard replaced. That's a level 4 repair BTW.
I'm getting it back in 2 weeks. |
