Vodacare "testing phase of the repair" ? |

Het ppl 2 and a half weeks ago I took my Sony Ericsson K850i in for repair (brod) to vodacare. So it has now been 13 working days (they said it would take 7-10 )
When I call 082-1944 (repair enquiry service of Vodacom) and press 2 to find out what the status of my repair is, the following is told to me: "The handset you have submitted for repair is currently with a technician and in the testing phase of the repair, to repeat this info.....)
According to a consultant at Vodacare the phone was replaced and the replacement also gave problems, so they had to fix (update firmware) it first. The consultant guaranteed me that I would have my phone by this week.
So what I actually want to know is, what the hell is the testing phase of the repair, and how long can it possibly still take???

Well they'll be checking to see if everything work for example every key, camera, earpiece it could take a few days for them to get round to it and fill in the forms OR they could of found a problem
Be patient lol |

OK, but don't worry I called them to find out and they told me that they will receive the phone from Sony Ericsson tomorrow morning and that I can come and collect it tomorrow afternoon.
I hope it's true what they say because it's already been 3 days longer than it was supposed to take and I am urgently going to need that phone this easter weekend.
Thanx for the replie |

Mine took almost a month because the royal mail thought they'd lose my special delivery package took ages to get it back but that shouldn't happen to you? Is it coming to your house or shop? |

No not at all, I am collecting it at the Vodacare outlet. So at least I don't have that worry as well:)
My problem now is that when I call the repair enquire service now it tells me what it told me in the first 2 weeks: "The handset that you have submitted for repair could not be repaired on-site and had to be sent in to a third party repairer( Sony Ericsson), and it could take up to 7 working days." But it said that constantly for 2 weeks so it doesn't really bother me.
Actually it's quite ironic, on the 13th working day the stupid enquiry service tells me it could take up to 7 working days! |

HAHA, you should have waited one day! :)
I am very happy now, I am FINALLY getting my K850i back today (collecting at 12:00). I just hope that it works now, I really don't want to go through more trouble!
