Its umm... there by default, you only need to change it if you pay (and who would pay for such a memory hog of an antivirus?)

avg is terrible, but its by no means a memory hog

I use PC Tools Anti-virus worth £50 got it for free picked up 1,069 infections and 369 virus' AVG didn't pick up

I am now using NOD32, after ditching AVG.

I use AVG as well. Have it installed on all 5 of our computers. Before that i was using Norton Internet Security but found it really slowed the computers down. What else is there out there thats better,easy to use and free would be nice ?

I went from AVG8.0 free, to avast! Home(also free; you need to register within 60days, no biggie though!). AVG was seeing too many admin programs as Trojans(SETool, A2uploader, etc...), as well as taking 1hour+ daily to scan my 'iccle 30GB machine......

Have only been on this spec since Tuesday, so no great in-depth reports...but no complaints so far, either!

best paid for security software - kaspersky or eset

best free security software - avira antivir, malwarebytes antimalware, comodo firewall (or pctools firewall)
