text message virus/prank that i cant explain! |

Hi
yesterday a received very weird text that said "i'm watching you". when I received the text there was no screen asking me if I wanted to view the new message, it just went straight to the text. On the text there was nothing where it would normally display the name of the sender/their phone number, it just said "i'm watching you". Also at the bottom there was no option saying 'reply' like normal, it just said 'ok'. When i left that message screen and had a look in my inbox there was nothing.
That was last night, today I had another text but this time saying "I'm still watching you", then another saying "I'm watching you", then the first part of my email address. This has got me really freaked out. I have no way to explain this so any help would be appreciated. Has anyone heard of anything like this or got any advice? My phone is an ericson k700i (yes its a rubbish phone)
my bluetooth was not on and i can't get email or anything like that on the phone

Sounds like you received a flash sms. Did it appear on your screen and then disappear when you went to your inbox?

yeah it didn't say who the sender was so i went to check my inbox and there was nothing there...its got me freaked out because i don't think my email address is on my phone anywhere so i don't know where they got that from, my friends aren't the sort of people who know how to do this kind of stuff so i don't know what is going on really |

just put "flash sms" into google, and you will find plenty of links about it. it's almost certainly a flash sms.
strange thing is - i never even knew they existed. |

You send a flash message by beginning your sms with !!
The anonymous text should then appear directly on the receivers screen but it will not be saved, however, be careful as not all networks support it.
It can be fun on a night out - spooking people.
