PCI-E graphics cards need PCI-E 16 slot. They wont work on a PCI-E x1 slot.

Yea, it won't work in a normal pci slot (usually white) it needs either pci express 2.0, pci express x8, or pci express x16 (usually the only time you should have a x8 slot is for sli)

Oh ***
According to this:

The slot I have is the bottom image, standard PCI?
So the card I just bought is wrong still?

I have just been browsing to find out some more info and look what I found

Someone at newegg.com put:
"PCI Express x1. this card works great in my Dell e310. easy to install and Setup. noticeable difference in video play."

The Dell e310 has the same motherboard, so all good, and to back up that card which is PCI Express X1, look at dell's documentation

• Two PCI card slots
• One PCI Express x1 card slot

Anyway that video card I talked about then is here

Thanks everyone

I think a card might work in the x1 slot. It fits anyway, but covers the ram slots

^^^

I think they were on about the graphics card that you linked to further down the page.

The PCI-E card will not work in your PC. A PCI 1x card would. So, if you bought the PCI-E one, it won't work

EDIT: By PCI-E, I mean the standard PCI-E 16x type of card, which the one you mentioned in your first post appears to be.
