Hi all,

I've had a P1i for a week now and absolutly love it, the best phone I've had yet....this phone made me defect from blackberry.

Anyways, I have a slight nack that I hope someone will be able to help with.

Whenever I begin to type anything, it comes out as though im pressing the ALT button, i.e. numbers and symbols. I have to press ALT once to default back to text formatting.

Does anyone know how to reverse this so the phone automatically begins typing letters insted of Numbers/Symbols?

That makes no sense at all. The P1 is 'letters default' whenever you are in messaging. If you want numbers you press 'ALT' twice for numbers only or once for numbers temporarily.

Try the following: update your software, even if it says you have the latest software go ahead and update. 2. Do a master reset.
Remember to make back ups of your data.

thanks for replying but i just figured out what was causing it.

under text options i had enabled the on screen keyboard thinking this was an option that would allow me to use it if needed but infact turning on this option makes then phone think you dont want to use the qwerty keys thus switches their default to numbers / symbols.

so i have turned off the onscreen keyboard and now the keys default to qwerty.

Now, why didn't I think of that?
Glad you're sorted out.
