it has no science, you just have to be in a clear sky and turn the gps on and wait for it to make a conection with several satelites, it can take a while, you can use the a-gps but i dont think it helps alot and it cost money, so you just wait for it to conect.
By the way i heard that some firmwares had trouble with it i am usin rb 35 (i dont remember the middle numbers) |

But i'll answer how, just open info status to start searching signal, and wait until full locked. Don't press back but just minimìze, then u could use application that u want.
