If it ends on the 16th April, you've been able to upgrade since the 17th of March, so might be worth giving them a ring and see if they can do you any discounts (might be cheaper than moving to another network, try them and see).

In regards to O2 ringing you, as a network we don't do that, I always found it rude and annoying when Three and the other networks used to keep ringing me trying to pressure me into an upgrade, so it's nice to know they let you take your own time.

You have to give 30 day notice over the phone to cancel it, which again you've been able to do since the 17th of March.

Try ringing up retentions (202 then option 2, and option 2 again), I got £15 off any tarrif, chose their £35 p/m one with unlimited internet, C902, 600 minutes and they got me 2000 texts too for £20 per month!

Thank You for the advice.

Yes i am going try and get the best out of them...

But if i did i wanted to cancel, does that means it's too late???

Ps. do you work for 02?

Edit- Also if i wanted to change the name on the contract to my sister or brother is that possible??

1) Yes I do work for O2 (but the opinions and advice I post here is entirely my own and not representative of that of the company I work for) <-- have to put that to cover myself lol

2) No, it's not 'too late', this seems to be a common mis-conception, although I have no idea why... An '18-month' contract is just your MINIMUM contract, you can have it for 18-months, 20-months, 50-months, the rest of your life if you want to lol, it won't just 'end' and you won't be tied in again if you do nothing. Once you're past your minimum commitment period (18-months) then it's up to YOU what you do.

3) You can't transfer it to someone elses name, but if you're going to do that you may as well just cancel it and get him to start his own contract.

4) O2's retentions team is one of the best in the country, but if you don't get the answer you want from one person, hang up and try another. But bear in mind, they're not miracle workers, don't expect to get shed loads of minutes, texts and Internet, plus a top end phone, for a couple of quid per month. The longer you've been with O2, the more haggeling power you have. You've only been with them 18-months, but in another 18-months you'll prolly get a better deal than this time.

lol.. I had no problems with 02 in these 18 months, they are good IMO.

Thank You for all your advice and help much appreciated.

Well this is my sisters contract which she didnt want anymore so i decided to take it for the rest of the months instead of canceling early, that was the reason i asked.

But once again thank a lot.

Just pretend you're her, I pretend that I'm my mum whenever ringing them up and they don't ever ask why I sound so much like a 15 year old boy

Yes, she'd have to be the one to ring up and upgrade or cancel it.

Three will ring anyone whenever they can, just ignore them lol.

And when you ring up (or your sister rings up) to cancel it, ask them to move it to pay as you go and they'll send out a pay as you go sim card to transfer your number onto (a quick ring to customer services after you've recieved it will do this).

So long as your sister makes the initial call and passes identification she may pass the phone over to the Queen to discuss the upgrade if she so desires!!
