You will find that soap leaves a residue and can also dry out the skin a lot more than shower gel.

Ah shower gel much better than soap. Soap i find does not clean or foam up over the body as good as shower gel does. And yes some soaps dry the skin. Best soap is dove even for men.

Shower gels are more practical, you can carry them around easier since they 're bottled.

The other way, soap is much more practical than gel for every day uses, I was always told you shouldn't use shower gel to clean your erm wotsits as it contains alcohol, I also can't use shower gel as it's no good for my skin, body wash is different and less concentrated ergo a lighter wash, but swings and roundabouts I guess...

It's by no means a replacement QVGA, more of a option, Pears unfragranced soap is the way forward, that with a bit of sugar to get rid of proper stains.

so for those who use it, how long does a 'normal' bottle last? considering its being used on the entire body?

250ml of Original Source Mint and Tea Tree shower gel lasts me round about 1 to 1 and a half months.

It seriously is the best stuff.

You're not wrong there!

I prefer soap. I honestly can't stand shower gels - they melt away into nothing is milliseconds. I get grubby and sweaty working on grease covered cars and riding bicylces and those lightweight shower gels are just useless. I'll leave them to the metrosexuals to put in their man-bags.

Some of the handcleaners I've used in the Motor Industry have pummus granuals for scouring while other use extreme solvents and are best used with barrier cream. No sensitive skin around here!
