Fed Up of C905 |

I'm on my third C905 in a month and i thought i loved the phone but recentaly its just been Sh*t to say the least and put it in it's nicest context.
Today on the way out of school i dropped it from 6 inches, and its totaly made the phone the worst thing you will ever see with your eyes. The screens raised so much at one side i can see the bearing it slides up and down on. One of the curvy bits on the battery case has split exposing a corner of the phone itself and there's so many scratches on the side now.
6 inches :/ the phones annoyed me for the last time.
I want a new phone from Orange to say the least.
I'm on £25 a month and i get Unlimited texts and 400 minuets, i payed £144 for the handset.
What other phones can i get? Suggestions? i like the X1 and the W995, pro's con's and other phones?
Please help

Nokia N79/N85/N82, since if you're fed up with a C905 then you'll be fed up with anything |

I wouldn't say so.... The c905 is non-smartphone unit reported to be buggy and cause problems to users..... You may try some smartphone like the G900 for e.g. or wait for the Idou if you want a real phone... smartphone i mean...

Come to think of it... Maybe the last bits of UIQ3 are enough of a cure for these problems |

Have orange agreed to give you a new handset?
I could be wrong, but unless you're in the first 28 days all they'll do is offer to repair it. If you've got insurance, the accidental damage should be covered, if not they'll tell you to contact Sony for a warranty repair, and I'm pretty sure accidental damage isn't covered by the warranty.
My C905 is at the repair center for the third time, and it's only 3 months old. But I'm stuck with it unless I buy a new handset myself. |

What surface did you drop it on? The build guilty of recent SE phones is shocking. At the end of the day accidents do happen and an electronic item used day to day should be build to withstand knocks and bumps.

Twas 6" onto pavement which rolled onto grass
My mate has a nokia 6300 hundered i think dont quote me on that, and he has done so much damage to it and it works fine, My friend came out of school i told him, he took out his SE T303 and literaly threw it at the ground and picked it up, and it was fine!
Why can't all Sony Ericssons be like this?!

Well I think I can guess, when designing the C905 it's a phone with new technology this takes up lots of room (as they've not developed it yet) but they want to keep the phone as small as possible so decreasing the quality of the housing. I've never seen or tried the C905 but I guess this is the case. It's the same with K850i, it had new technology (5MP sensor) and was thus rather bulky, but now they've made them thinner (C902) Same thing with the W900i etc.
With developed phones they can then afford to increase the quality of the housing as they've manage to make the components smaller. Infact you can clearly see the trend, look at flagships C905, K850i both with their problems (hardware problems and software problems) So just wait until a new replacement of the C905 comes out. Simple
Or just give up on SE why should we waste money on expensive products which don't provide a good quality of suitability.

Good choice, battery life is slightly worse than C905 though. |

ive never had such experience with my sony ericsson phones. the ones i buy are always strong. t230 t68i k310 k750 w200 and now p1 all good.
i use my phone every day just like an average phone freak even in my sleep.
i guess i take good care of my phone cause is money thats paying for the phones not leaves. My parents and i worked very hard for the things we buy. so i take care of my phone in the best way ever.
