Hi,

Im a new owner of the P1i, and i found out that when the keypads are locked. The screen still lights up in a dimmed way while telling me to press the unlock key when i press any key on the keypad. This really burns the battery life as i put my phone in my jeans.

So is there a mod or a way to lock all the keys except the back and * button from making the screen light up when its in lock mode?

I don't understand what you wrote. What do you mean by "The screen lights up in a dimmed way.." When the keylock kicks in my P1's screen goes completely off. If yours stays on (slightly dimmed) after the keylock locks the screen then there's a problem because it shouldn't be that way.
It's not what you do or even how you do it but in what state of mind you do it: Dups! 2009

im sorry u didnt understand me, my english isn't dat good

Anyways, what i ment when the screen lights up in a dimmed way is when i press a button while its in lock mode. It comes up with the key image and a note (To unlock press * then....)

And my screen does go out completely while its keylocked.

No need to apologies for your English, a lot of the people over here aren't English. Besides, you just clarified your post.

Anyway, that screen issue doesn't bother me much. Unfortunately I can't offer a solution to your particular problem. Hopefully, someone else will be able to help.

Mine did the same thing out of the blue recently, and yes, it sucks a lot of battery power. My fix was just to reboot the phone.

to adjust display brightness you can go to "Control panel -> Device -> Backlight" then select "Brightness" and choose "Backlight: Handheld (dimmed)" and set brightness to 0% - it should spare some battery live
